"Copying"

I have one thing I'd really like to clear up. I suppose it's my "copying policy". Here are my rules about my content, ideas and whatnot. The things that I never will allow anyone to do are use my content without asking (If you ask I will almost ALWAYS say yes as long as you don't claim it as your own) or continue a series that I never finished without asking. Often I will allow someone to continue one of my unused series but only if they ask. Sometimes I won't because it's already been picked up by someone else or I want to use it later on. As for making music videos to the same song or making a series similar to mine, there are 2 degrees. If you want to make a music video to the same song as me or make a series under the same idea (example, ballet) don't even ask me, I don't own the idea! I will always say yes as it's not even up to me! Just because I might have chosen that theme doesn't mean you never can! As for music videos, I don't own the song so go on ahead! I'm not even involved so no need to even consider asking ever! Although if you wish to make a series or music video VERY similar to mine (kinda is certainly okay and there's no need to ask in this case) I am not entirely okay with it. In the past, people have literally done my series on their own without even mentioning it to me and it bothers me because I've spent time making it up. As long as you don't follow my plot line, once again I don't need to be asked, but if it does, and you know it, I'd like to request that you do something a little different. If you did the same thing as my without knowing, continue on and if anyone bothers you about it, I'll talk to them for you because that's nobody's fault at all :) The last thing I often get asked about is names. Things like, can I name my -insert doll I have- the same name as your -insert same doll I have-? Of course you can! I don't own the name and there's no need to ask! All because I chose that name for my doll doesn't mean that it's now off limits! You probably just love the name, and that's none of my business! Name away! As far as series go, if you want to use a name I used, it will most likely be fine but I wouldn't mind just being told about it so we can avoid confusion and whatnot :) I can't think fo any other things that could be considered "copying" but my stance really is "It's not considered copying unless you're doing it purposefully." So if you know you're copying, try to be original, if you think it's kinda similar, that's no big deal, do it! Oh and all because I did it doesn't mean you can't! Anyways, I'll try and update more often! I have a big idea to hopefully announce this weekend! Oh and speaking of big ideas, I am hoping to make my summer movie and extension of The Palace Wall (I talked about it on facebook) but I am considering doing it sooner because I'm so excited for all of my ideas so should I wait until July, or try doing it ASAP?
